Audemars Piguet Presents the National Geographic Alarabiya Magazine Photography Competition in Partnership with Manarat Al Saadiyat
9 November 2021Abu Dhabi Media, the UAE’s leading public service broadcaster and media company, has issued a rallying call to the country’s budding photography community for this year’s National Geographic Abu Dhabi Young Photographer of the Year competition.
With exciting prizes on offer for the top three entries, this year’s ‘Yellow Through My Eyes’ themed competition is presented by Audemars Piguet and will be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
Abu Dhabi Media is encouraging the nation’s young photography talent aged between 16-21 to capture photographs encapsulating the theme. Competition entries will be judged by a panel of experts including Alsaad Almenhaly, Editor-in-Chief of National Geographic Alarabiya Magazine at Abu Dhabi Media; Chérif Chamandi, Director at Audemars Piguet; Ishaq Al Hammadi, Editor at National Geographic Alarabiya Magazine and Bader Alnomani, Photography Studio Senior Specialist at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
The judges will select three winners. The first-place winner will receive a Canon EOS R6 - a full-frame mirrorless camera for enthusiast photographers and videographers; the second winner will be awarded a Canon EOS 90D Body camera, while third place will receive a Canon EOS 250D, Black.
Young photographers eager to enter the competition are required to email their chosen photo, along with their name, phone number and Emirates ID to competition@ngalarabiya.com.The deadline for entries closes on 1st of
December. Following the judging process, the winners will be announced on the social media platforms of National Geographic Alarabiya Magazine on the 9th of December. The prizes will be presented at Manarat Al Saadiyat on the opening night of the National Geographic exhibition on the 16th of December.
“The theme of the competition "Yellow Through My Eyes", is inspired by the color of the frame of the world-famous magazine. This is an important, high-quality competition for young talent interested in photography,” said Alsaad Almenhaly, Editor-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Media’s National Geographic Alarabiya Magazine. “We appeal to all young talents to embrace the chance and be part of an exciting competition that provides opportunities to sharpen their skills and interact with industry professionals.”
