Abu Dhabi Sports" covers the Jiu Jitsu tournaments both nationally and internationally
9 August 2017Abu Dhabi Media’s Abu Dhabi Sports Channels announced today that they will be covering the next season of the Jiu Jitsu Championships organized by the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation in the UAE and abroad. Abu Dhabi Sports has always been keen on covering major local, regional and international sports events using state of the art broadcast technology, reflecting Abu Dhabi's position as the capital city of Jiu Jitsu.
"This special coverage comes in support of the efforts of the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation to promote this sport in the UAE, expand the base of its practitioners and fans enhancing its competitiveness both locally and internationally" said Yaqoub Al Saadi, Head of Abu Dhabi Sports Channels. “It is also aimed at highlighting the outstanding infrastructure, facilities, and organizational capabilities of the UAE, especially as both the Jiu Jitsu Asian Union and the Jiu Jitsu International Federation are based in Abu Dhabi.”
Al Saadi stressed that “Abu Dhabi Sport has dedicated all of its professional and technical capabilities, as well as a selection of its correspondents and commentators, to provide a comprehensive coverage for the fans of this popular sport in the Arab world according with the highest level of professionalism and objectivity. Special channels will be dedicated to air the competitions with special episodes and reports on the championship. The channel will also provide full coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as a series of documentaries to follow the competitions”.
Al Saadi pointed out that the coverage includes the major championships organized by the Federation, including various rounds of the "UAE President’s Jiu Jitsu Cup", which began yesterday (Saturday, August 6), and the "Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu Grand Slam", which first round started on July 15, in addition to other activities and events.
Abu Dhabi Sports will provide exclusive coverage of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which is held at the end of the season in April each year and continues for two weeks. Abu Dhabi Sports 2 channel will be dedicated to the competition and will air a selection of programs, documentaries and interviews inside and outside the UAE, followed by a series of documentaries covering the tournament in various aspects.
The coverage will include analysis studios of the championships and competitions held inside and outside the UAE, which will show live reactions of the championship participants before and after competitions. Abu Dhabi Sports will also be showing specialized shows such as the weekly show “UAE Jiu Jitsu”, presented by Tareq Al Hammadi, which will highlight over a period of one hour the latest local and international events and news of the game, the national team’s preparations and its victories and accomplishments. In addition, there will be shows providing educational information about the game and special documentaries on the Jiu Jitsu players, coaches and academies, as well as reports from inside and outside the UAE.
The coverage will include live streaming of all press conferences concerning the activities of the Federation to bring the viewers the latest news of the game, and the efforts for Jiu Jitsu to receive Olympic accreditation and expand the base of Jiu Jitsu players in the UAE in particular and throughout the world in general, as the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation is playing a major role in these efforts, with Abu Dhabi considered as capital city of Jiu Jitsu.
Abu Dhabi Sports has played a major role in the successful efforts to include Jiu Jitsu in the World Beach Games in San Diego - USA, the Asian Beach Games, the World Indoor Games and the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia; thanks to the extensive media coverage and support provided by Abu Dhabi Sports channels in coordination and strategic collaboration with UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation and other concerned parties, which shall be counted as another success of the Abu Dhabi Sports channels in covering the major events and competitions of this sport.
